it's a hard knock life

Today I found out I'm going to be living in Pimentel, Lambayeque for two years! It is a town of about 30,000 people. I was told by my regional coordinator that my house is about a block from the beach, no big deal. My host mom is 78 years old and she is the head of the house with 7 children who will be in out and of the house because they are fishermen. Here are some pictures leading up to the discovery of our sites...

here it begins with the scotch tape

here we wait in anticipation

here is Lucia our APCD waiting to hear what to do next

Here are the doctors standing up on the right in case any one passed out from shock

here is the line of envelopes with our names on it and pieces of a map inside

here is the line of waiting to run to our envelopes

here I am finding my name

here I am opening my envelope

I almost thought my envelope was empty because the pieces of the map were super tiny hiding in the bottom!

here we putting our map together

here is our completed map Lambayeque

here is Betty pointing to her site on the map

my girl Brittany and I, we'll be department neighnores
