Nearing the end of week three and I’m having a rough time.
I’m sick for the second time already; now instead of stomach sick I’ve got a
mean cold. I also just want to decapitate the rooster outside, I’ll let it live
for my host mom’s sake but it’s asking for it. Other than those things and the
fact I have to use a lot of strength to not think about Conner I’m doing great! I’m continuing to make
friends and I’m excited about the projects I will be doing in site. Every week
we have a current volunteer come visit the training center and share their
experiences, this week Speare came to show us what he’s been doing for the past
two years. He has an awesome youth health promoters club that educate people
about sexual health which I am super interested in.
This Tuesday I’m pretty nervous for a second facilitation in
the classroom; this time we will facilitate the session all on our own. That’s
45 minutes of me talking in my terrible Spanish to a classroom full of kids!
Next Thursday is my 2nd Spanish level interview, I honestly think I will
advance a little bit, I’ve definitely gotten better but I still need A LOT of
practice! We are also going to start youth groups in our communities next week which I'm excited/nervous about. My fellow voluntaria Brittany and I are going to focus our youth group around nutrition/physical health :)
Tomorrow I’m going to Lima with some of the other volunteers;
it’ll be a lot different than the last time we went because we will be without
the PC trainers and have some freedom. Then at night we are going to go dancing
in Chosica (a town fairly close to Chaclacayo) I’m pretty stoked about that
since I haven’t danced since being in CF!
I just wanted to point out my wish list I added to my about
me section J I
know I’m already getting greedy for American things! But honestly what I’d love
more than anything is letters! Please write me, for right now it’s expensive
for me to write letters back because we don’t get a lot of money during
training so what I’m doing is sending all
of my letters in one envelope to my mother and she is sending them out for me because
it’s just cheaper for me than to send them all individually.

Also my beautiful niece Naomi June Moisa was born Sunday night and I'm so sad I can't hold her in my arms for two years but we'll get acquainted through skype and I'll hold her in my heart <3
