To not be barefoot

Yesterday I met my host family. My host father is Jose Mendoza and my host mother is Meri. They have 3 children Allen (11), Richard (16) and Amanda (25) they are all very nice! They are trying to help me with my Spanish, I def need more practice. In Peru it is very uncommon to walk around the house barefoot def not something I'm used to!!! Today was the first day of pre service training pretty crazy! We got an entire powerpoint presentation about how we are all going to get diarrhea and that we are all going to poop our pants at one point, totally looking forward to that. Please enjoy my pictures below!!!!

My first Peruvian breakfast, so far it's always been a biscuit with butter, jelly, cheese or egg

Lunch so far has come in courses, this was the first course of a veggie salad

This was the second course of roasted beef and potatoes and then we got jell-o.

This is the room I stayed in before going to my host family

This was my soup, tea, and custard for dinner afterwards we had chicken cooked with Coca cola but I forgot to take a  pic, I was hungry!

we had to take 5 buses with all our luggage to the training center the day our host families picked us up

This is my first meal with my host family, it was muy rico! I think it's called cayena rillena, basically a stuffed pepper and of course served with rice
